JOURNALIST

Emma Scher is a senior reporter for The Daily at the University of Washington and president of Society of Professional Journalists, UW Chapter. She has written for Washington Newspaper Publisher's Association, The Seattle Times, Seattle Met Magazine, Seattle Weekly, The International Examiner, and Awoko Newspaper in Freetown, Sierra Leone. She is graduating in June 2020 with a degree in Communications: Journalism and Sociology with Honors. Her high academic standing earned her the John H. & Harriet Reid Memorial Scholarship and Excellence in Journalism Scholarships.
Her journalism experience has honed a strong public affairs portfolio, a background fact-checking articles in magazine style, photography skills, and data visualization skills.
